All-on-4

All-on-4At Northern Colorado Prosthetic Dentistry, we provide patients with a wide range of tooth-replacement treatment options including traditional dentures, dental implants, implant-supported dentures, dental bridges, and all-on-4.

What Is All-on-4?

All-on-4 is a tooth-replacement treatment option that is designed to replace all of a patient’s teeth or a single arch of missing teeth with a denture that is permanently attached to four dental implants.

What Are the Benefits of All-on-4?

All-on-4 dental implants offer several benefits such as:

Feel Comfortable Right Away

All-on-4 dental implants offer the tooth-replacement benefits of dentures – without the awkward adjustment period that is often necessary with traditional dentures. Dentures secured to four dental implants never slide around, cause chafing or sores, and require no adjustment period.

Eat Anything You Want

With traditional dentures, people often need to forgo certain foods that are tough, chewy, or difficult to bite into. With all-on-4, you can continue to eat all of the foods you love – even those that are chewy or tough. (Although, we do recommend avoiding chewing hard objects like ice to avoid accidentally damaging your new all-on-4 dental implants.)

Natural Feeling and Natural Looking

Since all-on-4 dentures are securely fixed in the mouth with dental implants, they feel completely secure and natural. You’ll be able to eat and speak normally right away. Plus, all-on-4 dental implants are custom-designed to look just like your natural teeth.

Preserve Your Facial Features and Bone Structure

With traditional dentures, the jawbone does not receive the direct stimulation that it gets from natural tooth roots and from dental implant anchors. As a result, the jawbone deteriorates over time with traditional dentures, and this eventually leads to a person’s physical appearance changing over time, as well.

Better than One-for-One Tooth Replacement

Experience the benefits of dental implants and replace all of your teeth without the need to undergo a dental implant procedure for each of your missing teeth.

The All-on-4 Treatment Process

The treatment process for all-on-4 begins with a consultation, examination, and evaluation during which our prosthodontist takes a CBCT scan of the patient’s maxillofacial structures. This allows Dr. Bock to determine whether the patient is healthy enough to receive dental implants and whether they have adequate jawbone structure to support four dental implants.

This preparation process is followed by the implant placement process which can take several months, depending on the patient’s needs, the number of implants that are placed at a time, and how quickly the patient heals. If necessary, due to inadequate jawbone mass, the first step of the implant placement process would be to prepare the jawbone with a bone grafting surgery and recovery process. This is then followed by the implant placement procedure(s) and a subsequent healing process.

Once all of the implants are in place and the patient has healed completely, the patient’s dentures are designed and manufactured. Finally, the dentures are permanently fixed to the patient’s four dental implants using dental cement.

Is All-on-4 the Right Treatment Option for You?

All-on-4 is recommended for patients who missing all or most of their teeth and who are also candidates to receive dental implants.
